Rusty Lovell is Director of Programming for SATA and a USPTA-certified tennis instructor in the Danville area. He currently works at Stratford Tennis Club and has over 10 years coaching experience with juniors and adults of all levels.
Coach Rusty has been developing youth and adult tennis in southwestern VA over the past four years. His classes focus on energetic clinics using fun, game-based learning to peak interest and motivation.
Coach Eddie Blackburn is a PTR-certified instructor with decades of experience working with adults & juniors of all levels. Coach Eddie first started playing tennis in the National Junior Tennis & Learning Program led by Arthur Ashe in Philadelphia, PA. He later played college tennis at St. Augustine's University and served our country in the U.S. military. Coach Eddie is an integral part of SATA's coaching staff and advisory board.
Coach Martin Ringstaff has been playing tennis for over 37 years and previously held the USPTR Teaching Pro Certification. He began in Richlands High School and continued on into college where he played his first year at Lees McRae College his first year before transferring to Virginia Intermont College.
Martin has coached in numerous places across the United States including at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, NC, Gloucester High school in Gloucester, VA, and at Nike Tennis Camps (Previously known as Offense-Defense Tennis Camp) in Boston, MA. He is also on the SATA Board of Directors.
Coach Brent Edwards has been helping SATA's coaching staff for two years in it's outreach efforts and high performance junior program. Brent was a high school tennis standout at Halifax High School. Coach Brent is SATA's first college tennis product and he is currently playing for Methodist University, pursuing a business degree with a concentration in Professional Tennis Management.
